Build Guide

Iron Tide Build

The Immovable Object — take boss ultimates to the face and lose maybe 15% HP while everyone else wipes. This is the REAL tank build, not those "tanky but still die in two hits" setups.

The Immovable Object

ok so I gotta be honest the Iron Tide build is not flashy and you're not gonna see big damage numbers pop up on your screen but you know what you will see? you'll see yourself standing in the middle of a boss's strongest attack taking it to the face and losing maybe 15% of your HP while everyone else is getting one-shot and honestly that's its own kind of satisfaction, this is the tank build and I mean a REAL tank build not one of those "tanky but still die in two hits" setups that other guides recommend, we're talking max physical damage reduction max HP pool and a thorns aura that passively kills things while you just stand there menacingly, it's the build for people who are tired of dying and just want to experience the bosses without the stress of perfect parries and frame-perfect dodges

Weapon & Armor Setup

For armor you want the Titan's Pauldron + Coppermaul set combo, Titan's Pauldron gives +25% max HP and +15% physical damage reduction which is already great but when you combine it with the full Coppermaul set bonus you get an additional "Iron Skin" buff that reduces all incoming damage by 30% for 5 seconds after taking a hit and since you're constantly taking hits this buff is basically permanent

Skill Tree - Iron Wall

The Iron Wall tree is where all your points go and honestly there's not much room for dipping into other trees cause you need every passive to hit the damage reduction cap, the essential skills are Iron Fortress (permanent +20% defense +15% damage reduction), Unbreakable (when HP drops below 30% you become immune to all damage for 4 seconds on a 60 second cooldown), and Thorns Aura (reflect 30% of physical damage back to the attacker in a small radius), after maxing Iron Wall you can put leftover points into the Sha-Chi tree just for the Power Surge duration extension but don't expect to use Power Surge often cause your Sha-Chi generation is terrible with heavy weapons

Stat priority is dead simple: Defense to 50 > HP to 40 > Sha-Chi to 20, you don't need any damage stats at all cause the thorns aura and your base weapon damage is enough to kill things eventually, yes it's slow but you literally cannot die so who cares if a boss takes 10 minutes, you're watching Netflix on your second monitor anyway

Aggro Management & Playstyle

The taunt mechanic on Earthshaker's charged heavy is the key to making this build work in co-op, every time you land a fully charged heavy attack all enemies within 15 meters get forced to target you for 8 seconds and the taunt has no diminishing returns so you can just keep spamming charged heavies to hold aggro permanently, the rotation is basically: charged heavy to taunt → block the boss combo with Ironbreaker → punish with Earthshaker light attacks while the boss recovers → repeat, and if things get scary you pop the Unbreakable immunity and just stand there looking at the boss while it desperately tries to kill you and fails, it's honestly hilarious

Pro Tip: the Thorns Aura damage counts as physical damage and triggers bleed effects from your weapon, so if you put a bleed gem on Earthshaker the thorns will keep the bleed stacks refreshed and you can actually kill bosses surprisingly fast for a tank build, the bleed damage doesn't scale with your damage stat so it's pure free DPS.
