Skill Tree Overview

Phantom Blade Zero features a skill tree system divided into three branches: Offense, Defense, and Sha-Chi Mastery. Skill points are earned by leveling up, completing side quests, and discovering hidden training grounds throughout the world. Each branch has 12-15 skills, with higher-tier skills requiring points invested in lower tiers.

⚔ Offense Branch

Skills focused on raw damage output, combo extensions, and critical hit mechanics. Core tree for the Aggressive Chi Rush build.

Blade Rush

Active

Forward lunge attack that closes distance. Combo follow-up deals bonus damage. Essential for aggressive playstyles.

Requires: 3 points in Offense

Critical Flow

Passive

Increases crit rate by 5% for each consecutive hit within 3 seconds. Resets on taking damage.

Requires: 5 points in Offense

Combo Extension

Passive

Adds one extra hit to basic attack strings. Synergizes with weapons that have multi-hit properties.

Requires: 2 points in Offense

Executioner

Active

Devastating finishing move against staggered enemies. Deals 300% damage but consumes all remaining Sha-Chi.

Requires: 8 points in Offense

Bleed Enhancement

Passive

Increases bleed buildup by 30%. Works with Jagged Steel and other bleed-focused weapons.

Requires: 4 points in Offense

Fatal Momentum

Ultimate

Each kill grants +15% damage for 10 seconds. Stacks up to 3 times. Resets on boss encounters.

Requires: 12 points in Offense

🛡 Defense Branch

Skills improving parry windows, dodge recovery, damage reduction, and sustain. Core tree for the Defensive Parry Master build.

Extended Parry

Passive

Increases parry window by 25%. Makes Brutal Move counters more forgiving.

Requires: 2 points in Defense

Ghoststep Mastery

Passive

Increases the invulnerability window of Ghoststep by 15%. Extends the damage buff duration after successful Ghoststep.

Requires: 5 points in Defense

Parry Counter

Active

After a successful parry, press attack for a guaranteed critical counter-hit that deals 200% damage.

Requires: 4 points in Defense

Sha-Chi Shield

Active

Convert 2 Sha-Chi bars into a shield that absorbs one hit. 15-second cooldown.

Requires: 7 points in Defense

Rapid Recovery

Passive

Increases health regen during combat by 40%. Activate only when below 50% HP.

Requires: 3 points in Defense

Unbreakable Will

Ultimate

When HP drops to 0, consume all Sha-Chi to survive with 10% HP. 5-minute cooldown.

Requires: 12 points in Defense

⚫ Sha-Chi Mastery Branch

Skills improving Sha-Chi generation, decay rate, and special Sha-Chi techniques. Essential for all playstyles.

Sha-Chi Flow

Passive

Increases Sha-Chi generation rate by 15%. Every hit builds slightly more bar.

Requires: 2 points in Sha-Chi

Decay Resistance

Passive

Extends the Sha-Chi decay delay from 2s to 3.5s. Critical for hybrid playstyles that pace their offense.

Requires: 4 points in Sha-Chi

Sha-Chi Harvest

Active

Use near a defeated enemy to absorb 2 Sha-Chi bars. 30-second cooldown.

Requires: 3 points in Sha-Chi

Essence Amplifier

Passive

Sha-Chi Essence meter (Power Surge) fills 25% faster. Synergizes with weapon evolution.

Requires: 6 points in Sha-Chi

Phantom Edge Efficiency

Passive

Reduces Sha-Chi cost of Phantom Edge abilities by 1 bar (minimum 1).

Requires: 5 points in Sha-Chi

Sha-Chi Overload

Ultimate

Temporarily doubles max Sha-Chi bars to 12 for 20 seconds. 3-minute cooldown.
